Hi Folks,

I have continuous jobs to run that has dependeny. If one job fails in between the scheduled jobs I don't want to proceed the next job. Could any one please give ideas on how to proceed with scheduling dependent jobs in report caster without using Control-M?

Do they all have their own output or are they just creating hold files? You can set up a number of tasks in each schedule, but each task can only have a single output. Each task has pre- and post-processing steps. While this is not really setting up dependent jobs, this is as close as you'll be able to get. RC doesn't really have an easy way to set up job dependencies. The &&KILL_RPC flag can be set in a fex or post-processing step and as soon as that flag gets set to 'Y', any further processing for that scheduled job ends. So you could check for error codes (&FOCERRNUM) or no records (&LINES=0) after a job and set the flag as needed.

Regards,

Darin
