Does anyone else see this? Is there a solution?
When I work with EXL2K output it regularly happens that the output that's being displayed in Excel 2010 is not the output from my report, but the output of a different report or from an older version.
That seems strange, since usually the file-names aren't even the same; Excel would be displaying a file named WFServlet-1.xls while my report created a file WFServlet-2.xls, for example.
It gets stranger; if I close Excel and open the document that's on the top of my Downloads list (in Firefox 21.0), I get the sheet I was expecting. So apparently this is not the browser cache fooling me. It seems to be something Excel is doing? Or perhaps some interaction between how WF generates its sheets and Excel?
Another (related) annoyance is that once Excel is running, a fresh sheet from a report opens (in Excel)
in the background. We frequently have users complaining that a report isn't working when in fact all they had to do was click on the Excel button in their Windows task bar and it would pop to the front. Excel does not become the focused application after loading a worksheet from WF... The weird thing is that the new worksheet is marked as the active application in the Alt-Tab pop-up box, but it isn't at the front.
Sounds familiar? Is there a fix?
I strongly suspect that the cause is the weird window management that Office 2010 uses to override the default window management of the OS (obviously, the guys doing user interface design at MS are bonkers).
