MRE in B.I. Dashboard!

Francis MarianiMRE in B.I. Dashboard!
I find it really annoying that I have to logout of B.I. Dashboard to login into MRE. Even if you use a different User Id on the same machine, the sessions collide into each other. I assume they both share the same cookie.
While in MRE, I right clicked on the main MRE area and copied the URL. I then created a new link in MRE with this URL. I then logged off MRE and logged in to Dashboard Viewbuilder, added a new tab to my group view with the URL in the launch block.
Now when I login to B.I. Dashboard, I can access MRE without logging off! I'm really excited about this!
The URL is:
http://server-name/ibi_html/workbnch/mr_ie.htm?
UserAdminFlag=true&DomainAdminFlag=true&UserDomainFlag=true
&ReportBrokerFlag=true&ReportLibraryFlag=true&ReportCasterConsoleFlag=true
&ReportBrokerHTMLFlag=false&CustomReportsFlag=true&TellmeAdminFlag=true
&AvantGoAdminFlag=false&HTMLAssistFlag=true&HTMLGAAssistFlag=true
&HelpFlag=true&LogOffFlag=true&BROKERUser=ADMIN&
The group view is only used by administrators like me so I have no security issues.
This seems to work in v5.3.2, I don't know if it will work in any subsequent releases.

dhagenFrancis,
Just change your login url to mre to the ip address, and your bid to the domain name. That should get you through the summer.

Brian SuterAgree that different logons is not great ... we are in a gradual process of moving everything under one log in and one central launch place. In 765 you can turn on the ability to create standard reports from BID (if the user has that privilege). Working on the same for ReportingObjects...

susannahuh oh..
'working on'?
(we can't get our 765 to work at all yet
but) the tree from DB in 764 showed ROs. we're expecting that a DB visitor can in fact do their own reports using ROs. Please tell me we're ok with that assumption in 765.
