[CLOSED] TITLE attribute for a DEFINE not in the MFD
Just out of curiosity, can you assign a TITLE attribute to a DEFINE field that is not in the MFD? I was wondering if this could be done instead of putting the AS phrase on every usage of the field in a FEX.This message has been edited. Last edited by: Kerry,

As I was typing this I was thinking that you probably can't because the easiest solution would be to put it in the MFD. The only situation I can think of where you would want to do this is if you create a HOLD file for which you then create a DEFINE field.
Thanks!

Or when you create some joins... and build the defines on the joined tables

Hi All,
Is there a round about way we can have a DEFINE FIELD as part of the TITLE...
Something of this sort...
DEFINE FILE CAR
CONTRYNAME/A20 = COUNTRY;
END
TABLE FILE CAR
PRINT
CAR AS <CONTRYNAME
BY COUNTRY NOPRINT
ON COUNTRY PAGE-BREAK
END
I cant go for Subhead because, My Client wants this Exactly in the TITLE Area. Also While Using SUBHEAD OR HEADING, You can't bring the exact Grid Style as that of TITLE...
I need to fill on the Empty Boxes with DEFINE Field that changes on a BY FIELD.
Thanks is Advance...
Thanks,
