Can someone point me to the documentation for the current listing of FOCUS errors?

the best way to check an error is by typing

? error number into the command console window

e.g.

? 255

Prefix it with a language setting and you will get the message in that language if it exists

SET LANG=FRENCH
? 255
SET LANG=GERMAN
? 255
SET LANG=SPANISH
? 255

If you can not access the command console for any reason just create
a simple 1 line fex in a text editor and run it.

The reason I was hoping for a complete listing is because there are certain errors we want to log and certain that we don't. We need the listing to know which errors to be testing for.

Yes I think that is quite out of date.

To get the latest version if it actually exists raise a case with CSS

However ll error message are in the folder \ibi\srv76\home\nls\ with the extension .err

There are over 400 files as they are in multple languages english, dutch, french, german, japanese and spanish.

Basically look at all the files f*.err except those containing the language extensions

dut , fra , ger , jpn and spa

I count 124 such files (in 7.6.7), but many of those are HELP text (e.g., check.err) rather than error-message lists.

I opened a case and got the following suggestion.

1. Create a Master File:

FILE=focmcgyv, SUFFIX=FIX
SEGNAME=SEG1
FIELD=CONTROL, BLANK , A1, A1, $
SEGNAME=SEG2, PARENT=SEG1, OCCURS=VARIABLE
FIELD=WHATEVER, , A1, A1, $
FIELD=COUNTER, ORDER, I4, I4,$

2. Create a procedure:

FILEDEF FOCMSGYV DISK FOCMSGYV.TXT (RECFM F LRECL 4000
-RUN
-WRITE FOCMSGYV X
-RUN

TABLE FILE FOCMSGYV
PRINT COMPUTE MSG/A72 = FEXERR(ORDER,'A72'); AS ''
BY ORDER NOPRINT
WHERE TOTAL (MSG NE ' ' OR 'ERROR' OR 'Error Message Undefined')
AND (MSG OMITS 'ERROR MESSAGE TEXT MISSING ')
END

Run the procedure and you will get the error messages.
