Ran into something that looks strange to me. Why is the value of &INPUT_TEXT1 'All' it should be '0'. '0' is not equal to ' '. I am running this fex on 7.7.03.
There seem to be two keys to this puzzle. Recall that amper variables are typeless, and are stored as character strings -- so, when comparing amper vars in a dialog manager -IF or -SET command, Focus needs to decide whether to perform a numeric or character comparison.
1. When comparing values, if one of the values resolves to a string that "looks like" a number, Focus performs a numeric (rather than character-string) comparison, and converts the other string value into a numeric value. (If the other value cannot be cast as a number, you get an error message.)
2. Dialog Manager regards a blank string as convertible to zero.
