[CLOSED] Dev studio performance issue when using LDAP security
Hi All

We are using LDAP security (772 WFRS server). We have discovered that working under the reporting server "applications" folder in dev studio (772) is extremely slow. Simply saving a fex takes up to 30 seconds. If I turn off LDAP security it is fast. However, it is not the LDAP lookup that is slow. Working under Managed Reporting in dev studio is fast. And working under applications via the Reporting server Web interface is fast. So the problem only happens when accessing reporting server applications via dev studio while LDAP is on. I have a case open with IBI, but I am wondering, has anyone else seen performance issues when accessing applications via dev studio while LDAP security is on?

Thanks

Jodye

Interesting combo. You did a good job of trying alternatives. I would take a guess that you might see similar delays every time you run a report on the server too. Is that true?

Hi,

We use LDAP security and we do not experience slow response when working in the Reporting server. I ran 2 test first one was with 7.6.11 developer studio against the 7.7.03 server. Then I loaded up devloperstudio 7.7.02 version and tried that one. I didn't notice any slowness it was taking 2 - 4 seconds to save code to the server. I have LDAP security on the reporting server

Thank you Crystal.
I setup an environment with LDAP security on the Reporting Server to review this issue and I did not encounter any performance delays.
Jodye, we do have traces from an environment where issue reproduces and programming is actively reviewing the traces.
We have noticed the delay to occur from the point WebFOCUS sends the request to the request to the Reporting server and we get response after 10 seconds.

Dimitri

Our Client is on Windows 2003 Server and our
Reporting Server is on Unix. I notice it takes
several minutes to see certain changes to take
effect between the time I SAVE the FEX and the time I see the change.

Developer Studio 7.6.11
Reporting Server = Unix 7.6.8
Client = Unix
