[SOLVED]I have a case open on this already (Case #73542540) but thought I might throw it out here to see if anyone else has experienced this issue. Apache Tomcat 5.5 service won't start. Even when I go into services to start it. In the logs, there is a jakarta log with the error message "failed to create java" all the necessary .xml files are present, they all point to the correct IBI locations, and I am now at a loss of what to look for. Would it be the version of java that is installed? We have 1.6.30. Any input would be greatly appreciated. This message has been edited. Last edited by: MonkeyP,

check the java compatibility with that tomcat version. And also make sure your JAVA_HOME points to that java.

Thanks, Kamesh. Checked all that. Come to discover the MSVCR71.dll did not exist in the system32 folder as needed. Consider this solved.
