In developers studio, my launch page is to run a report based on the user making a selection of a sales rep shown in a drop-down box. But the list of values(sales reps) shown in the drop-down box depends on a social security # (SSN) that is input into a text box on the launch page. Can I chain the text box to the drop-down box or is there some dynamic way (using a procedure) to generate the drop-down list from what is input to the text box? Maybe someone has a way using javascript to do this. This message has been edited. Last edited by: joe d,

I tried your code as is. Upon loading the html, the filter works well. But when I input another couple of integers in the text box and click the filter button, the drop-down box becomes blanked out. Should I change something in the html or javascript so that the drop-down box becomes populated not just at loading?

If you add a character or two and the dd box becomes empty, that implies that the query to load the dd box returned no rows. It is actually working they way you want it to. Try removing a character and clicking filter.
Please keep in mind that this is an example. Try using it as a template and put your own data into the process. It will probably make a lot more sense then.

On load, SEARCH box contains 101, and the ORDERS appear filtered OK. Then I removed a digit from the beginning/middle/end of SEARCH box - in all cases, ORDERS dd box becomes empty. I also added digits, and tried new digits in the SEARCH box - in all cases, ORDERS dd box becomes empty. Do you know why the dd box is non-empty only upon loading?
