We have an HTML self service page we that have formatted to output as EXCEL. When we create a drilldown to additional data it prompts us to logon again. The original self service HTML page requires credentials and it passes to the parent report without any issues but when we try to drilldown to the daughter report then it prompts us to sign on again. Thanks in advance for any insightsThis message has been edited. Last edited by: FP Mod Chuck,
You might want to read the security manual. Because WebFOCUS is stateless, when you run the drilldown report, it does have the original credentials available. The security manual can provide options to you on how to set and save session variables like IBIC_user and IBIC_pass so that the drill process knows about them and can execute the program without re-prompting for credentials. We use a command called CopyWFVarToSessionVar to save and CopySessionVarToWFVar to restore credentials in the same browser session. Do some research on those to see if they help you out at all.
Ginny Thanks much for the advice. I never did actually find the Security and Administration Manual. Searched the IBI website and googled it and came up empty on both counts. I did find however a working solution from a IBI post and apologies to whoever posted this but it was a series of set commands as follows
I realize this is only a piece of the fex but it helped my drilldown to work and maybe passing it on will help someone else. Thanks for your help again
At the top of this page is a link to Search the Technical Documentation Library, Click it and under Search Technical Documentation is an input box Search for: type in administration.
Security and Administration 7.6.1 or higher is the 1st link...
Tom Thanks for your help I found it. You should consider coming to our CARfuse event in the fall. Its being held in South Boston, probably closer to you than to many of us.
