[Closed]Strange issue in WebFocus 8
All of a sudden the working report is showing the code in the browser instead of the output. I am not sure, what causes this issue?

The only solution to that now is, delete and recreate the report with the same code.

Did anyone faced this issue? What is causing this? What we need to do to avoid this?

WFDevConsultant,

We have no clue what you are talking about. You need to explain yourself a bit more, and maybe even provide us with the code in question. Sorry.

8.2.02M (production), 8.2.02M (test), Windows 10, all outputs.

The report output is showing the code instead of report. There is no error on the code. In order to make it work, all you need to do is, delete the report and recreate it.

Never had that happen to us before. I wonder if that bug has been addressed in a later release. Thanks for the link David.

Thanks David. That solution worked.

But I would like to know, what causes this issue?

From a case we opened 11 months ago:

quote:

This is a known issue with files that have been imported and are misconstrued
for output files.

The workaround is to create a new file and paste the old code in it.

I will transfer the case to the Development Team and a fix will be provided in
a future release.

I don't think this comment accurately reflects the problem as the fex is not newly "imported" - it is a fex that was updated by Dev Studio.

One month ago we were alerted to a patch to correct the issue: SEC-53 DS 8008_HF.zip. None of us have applied the patch as we haven't had the problem in quite a while - perhaps some other patch corrected the issue.

David's link provides the best workaround so far.
