When I create a filter in InfoAssist using dynamic prompt values it defaults to listing the drop down selection criteria in ascending order. I couldn't find a way to make it descending order. I tried sorting the sort field on the report template in descending order, but that didn't influence the report filter at all.

If you're using Autoprompt, you can't control the sort order. Alternative is to create a launch page in Composer. You'll have a lot more control over the drop down there.
