Sometimes we have to restart the Distribution Server (on AIX box) in the TEST environment and when we do, schedules that were disabled are run and delivered. Has anyone experienced this? How do we stop this from happening. It is mostly annoying, has not happened in PROD environment but has our customer concerned.
Thanks, Rhonda

Rhonda there's a parameter in your caster config called SCANBACK make sure its set to 0, for 0 days and it won't look back n days. It will only look back to the morning of the current day. There's another trick to get around having even today's run...and i'll let you know as soon as i can locate it in my brain.

However, be careful when setting SCANBACK to 0 or turning RECOVERY off. They have other consequences. When a server is down (whether it crashed or was brought down intentionally) and then brought back up, the SCANBACK option will check whether any jobs were scheduled to run during that 'down time' and execute those jobs. Setting it to 0 would disable that feature. In that case it would be up to you to make sure thare are no jobs were scheduled to run during the time the server was down. In case of RECOVERY, if the server goes down (again, either a crash or intentional), while some RC job(s) are running, RC would resubmit those jobs when the server is brought back up. Personally, I think both options are critical.
