Hello,

When one of our users is viewing an Active HTML report sent via ReportCaster, it looks like a regular HTML report instead of an Active HTML report. When he forwards me his email with the report to me and I look at it, it looks fine - it shows as an Active HTML report.

Could there be some setting in IE 8 that would be causing this problem for him?

Thanks,
Colleen

Hi Colleen,

From our technicals: The browser might well have scripting turned off.
If so, then the report will display without the various ahtml controls and special display options.
The writer and his friend could compare their 'tools->internet options->advanced' settings to find out which setting(s) is/are responsible.

Cheers,

Kerry

Hi,

The user is now seeing the Active HTML content ok. (btw, We are sending the report in a zip file as an attachement.)

IBI sent us a list of settings in IE, and when that was updated for the user the html content did show.

Here is the list:
Open IE8
Tools -> Internet Options
Security Tab -> Local Intranet -> Custom Level -ActiveX controls and plug-ins -Allow previously unused ActiveX controls to run without prompt
-Enable
-Allow Scriptlets
-Enable
-Automatic prompting for ActiveX controls
-Enable
-Binary and script behaviors
-Enable
-Display video and animation on a webpage that does not use external media
player
-Disable
-Download signed ActiveX controls
-Enable
-Download unsigned ActiveX controls
-Disable
-Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe for scripting
-Disable
-Only allow approved domains to use ActiveX without prompt
-Disable
-Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins
-Enable
-Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting*
-Enable

Also Please be sure the following scripting settings are set:
-Scripting
-Active Scripting
-Enable
-Allow Programmatic clipboard access
-Enable
-Allow status bar updates via script
-Enable
-Allow website to prompt for information using scripted windows
-Enable
