Hi,

What is the default value set to the variable REMOTE_ADDR ?

We have the IP RESTRICT on on the server side and we are getting an access denied error when we run the report. When we checked the logs, it looks like the IP address which is picked is not the correct ip of the unix box which is sending the requests.

I would like to know how the value to REMOTE_ADDR field is set.

It doesn't have a default value - it's a system variable that is populated with the IP address of the computer making the request. I'm not sure you understand what REMOTE_ADDR is used for. There are several posts regarding its use (search for REMOTE_ADDR) and it's also covered in the documentation. Read up on those and then see if you still have the same question.
