I want to omit the value if it starts with A-Z. Is there a function to do this?

Use the CHKFMT function.

TABLE FILE CAR
PRINT
COMPUTE T1/I3 = CHKFMT(1, MODEL, 'A', 'I3');
MODEL
BY CAR
WHERE TOTAL T1 NE 0
END


I use WHERE TOTAL because I'm using the function in a COMPUTE. If the finction is used in a DEFINE, then WHERE T1 NE 0 can be used.

I am trying this on Reporting Object and when I try Danny's way, I am getting this error message

THE TEST VALUE IS LONGER THAN THE FIELD FORMAT LENGTH

What I did is, Created a Define field and used that field on the Where condition.
