Hi tony, The Requirement of the report is actually a report caster job distributing an excel output to some users thru email. And whn the users try to open the password the excel shld prompt for a password.and even if they save this attachement to their hard drive if any one unknowingly opens it , it shlould prompt for a password.so this is how the security to that excel has to be provided.

We have a similar requirement. Unfortunately, any time I use VBA macros, the customer is prompted with a "would you like to allow macros" message any time they open the document. So...... all he/she has to do is click "No" and then I no longer have password protected Excel documents.
