use SET ALL=PASS and then use a selection test that no other records will pass. with ALL=PASS, null or missing values are considered to pass any selection tests.

adelaide, i do believe all=pass is a bit different, for a JOIN where no screening condition is applied that would affect a field in the guest file, hence the pass; a different interpretation from suggesting that screening conditions of any kind would be obviated by it use. -s.
