I have a table that contains fields where zero is a valid number but the fields can also contain blank (null) values which are also valid.

When I add a format to the field in my fex (for example "/D10CBM") the resulting report produces "$0" in place of the null when what I actually want is the null.

Is there a way to preserve the null value and only display $0 when the field contains an actual zero rather than a null?

Manglum,

you want to add missing on to your define field. try this:

MY_FIELD/D10CBM MISSING ON


also the default value for null is "." if you want to display blank or something else, you need to set that with 
  SET NODATA  = ''


There is also a set command for Null as well. Does the same thing as missing = on, but it turns it on for all fields, not just the one you set it on
