I intend to open/run a reporting object in Infoassist via a HTML link. Is this possible?

Assuming you're licensed for Personal InfoAssist you can access InfoAssist directly without having to log on to the Dashboard. The URL would be:

 url=http://hostname:port/wf_context_root/MyIA?[IBIC_server=server][&IBIAPP_app=app]

For example: http://localhost:8080/ibi_apps/MyIA
