Saving graph as PDF
I thought that IBI was working on saving a graph as a PDF and this was suppose to be out with 7.6.3 or 7.6.4.

I still don't see this option, it still seems you have to save it as a picture and then incorporate the picture as an image.

This does not produce very clear results.

Any time frame when you will be able to save the graph as a PDF report.

Thank you

Have you tried using the HOLD FORMAT PNG for the graph?

We have a number of reports which we publish in PDF format that have graphs created with WF713. We use the PNG format and it is very clean.

Thanks!

Try using the PDF Layout Painter and reference the graph fex. Your output will be in pdf and will show the graph.

SVG is the format you want for PDF.

GRAPH FILE CAR
SUM SALES BY COUNTRY
ON GRAPH HOLD AS SALESGRAPH FORMAT SVG
END
TABLE FILE CAR
"SUM COUNTRY NOPRINT
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT PDF
ON TABLE SET STYLE *
TYPE=REPORT,IMAGE=SALESGRAPH,$
ENDSTYLE
END

If you use the PDF Layout Painter, you don't have to write a dummy report to put the graph in.

You can create the graph right inside the PDF Layout Painter by opening the graph tool or you can reference an external focexec. For a single graph, just say

ON GRAPH HOLD FORMAT SVG

and don't give it a name.
