Is there a way you can change the Group of Group View in Dashboard Builder?
Okay, this is the situation: I have a Group View for Group A currently assigned to Domain A. We decided to split out a region to a different dashboard so I created a different Domain (Domain B) and created a new Group (Group B). But, the newly split-out region doesn't want to change the dashboard url link because they have several apps that use that link that they don't want to change unless absolutely necessary.
So, I'm thinking, if I can change the existing View for Group A to use Group B then change the blocks to point to Domain B, then that will save me from having to change the url on the other apps. But, I have not found a way to change the Group... if I Remove then Add, I get a new url... so can't do that either.
What do y'all think? Is there a way or should I just change all the urls in those other apps? This message has been edited. Last edited by: Kerry,
There's a copy function which can move all the internal goodies of the Dashboard from one group to the other. So making two identical groups is relatively straightforward.
If the people involved are in a single group, you should be able to send them to
. . . and each should route to their own group. There's a user management function that you use to assign the basic look and feel of each. After that they're functioning within the controller and everything for them should be embedded in the cookie for the call.
If you're deep-linking past that front end, using aa_gbv in a url string for a direct connection to a report (which I could see happening with integrated login in particular) . . . well . . . you're going to need to decide who you like more. Don't fret -- this may be an opportunity to ask for cash, gifts, or personal favors. A 30-day deadline is customary for the receipt of bribes, so be patient. Deciding too quickly means you'll lose out on gifts like quilts and homemade liquor that take longer to come together.
Option 2 -- three groups. Strip material out of the original so that it only offers the deep link targets. Allow both groups access to that group. That should keep the automated links happy. Each of your user sets gets a new view as well, deluxe like the original. Remove the Views option from their menu so that can't go to the original. It won't matter if it's there, but it will look odd.
