[SOLVED] Concatenating text variables (object=FIELD), WRAPping the result,

My goal, for purposes of easy maintenance, is to create several text variables and then concatenate them, and wrap the result prior to displaying in a PDF report. My test code is below. It appears it individually warps each of the variables across the page which is not what I want. I want the result to be wrapped as if a single string of text. As a side note, I also want to be able to style SENTENCE2 as BOLD and still get the concatenation and wrapping I desire. Any clues?

Thanks,
George

You need to enclose your code in

pairs so it isn't read as HTML.

Here's something that might work:

DEFINE FILE EMPLOYEE
SENTENCE1/A1000V = 'The car is red. The car is red. The car is red. The car is red. The car is red. The car is red. The car is red. The car is red. The car is red. The car is red. The car is red. The car is red. The car is red. ';
SENTENCE2/A1000V = 'The grass is green. The grass is green. The grass is green. ';
SENTENCE3/A1000V = 'The bird is blue. The bird is blue. The bird is blue. The bird is blue. The bird is blue. The bird is blue. The bird is blue. The bird is blue. The bird is blue. The bird is blue. The bird is blue. The bird is blue. The bird is blue. ';
SENTENCEX/A3000V = SENTENCE1 | SENTENCE2 | SENTENCE3 ;
END

TABLE FILE EMPLOYEE
BY LAST_NAME NOPRINT
WHERE RECORDLIMIT EQ 1;
ON TABLE SUBFOOT
 "<SENTENCEX"
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT PDF
ON TABLE SET STYLE *
 TYPE=REPORT, GRID=OFF, FONT='ARIAL', SIZE=10, JUSTIFY=LEFT, $
 TYPE=TABFOOTING, OBJECT=FIELD, JUSTIFY=LEFT, WRAP=6.5, STYLE=BOLD, $
ENDSTYLE
END

SENTENCE2/A1000V = 'The grass is green. The grass is green. The grass is green. ';

Thanks Dan,

I've tried this and it appears it may be my only solution. Not to be picky, the only issue with solution is that each line appears to end with a carriage return so the 3 lines are not concatenated as a paragraph which I prefer. I'll play around with your solution and maybe I can make that happen. Maybe I'm stretching the limitations of the tool.

Thanks again for your quick response and simple solution,
George
