I have an end user that wishes to have their reports in Univers Font. Currently we are using 7.6.10 in our test environment and I was wondering if anyone knew whether or not this font type (Univers) would be available on future releases of WebFOCUS?

Report Output format?

For HTML, corresponding font family should be available in end user machine. Also there will be limitation from browser.

For PDF, its possible to add font files to a location accessible by WF Reporting Server. Check Chapter 10 Choosing a Display Format(page 446) in Creating Reports with WF

Hope this helps.

Actually it's Chapter 9. There are only a few fonts that come standard with WF. But the documentation (as well as several threads on this forum) contains all the info you need for adding additional font capabilities. We have added numerous fonts including barcode, OCR, and a few other basic font sets. You should also be aware that if you use National Language support (as well as bold and italic) those characters and type faces need to be available as well in your font sets.

Ram & Darin,
thanks for the input. I will definitely take a look at both Chapters (9 & 10) to see if I can figure out how to add a new Font Type to WF. I think I did read something in Chapter 9 on how to add this and I will have to review it with our Administrator to see if he can add this functionality. I will let you both know what I find.
Darin,
I did notice that I/We will have to add the different styles (Bold, Italic, etc) for the Font(s) we choose to add.
Thanks,
Erin

You have to add the correct metrics files for each variant of a font that you want to use.

look at it from a logical point of view.

For PDF

Font X Normal is 1 font
Font X Bold is 1 font
Font X Italic is 1 font

ie 3 font files.
