I just wanted to know about the Agents in reporting server. for what it is being used and how. i just wanted to understand since i use to sometimes Agents crashed.
The agent is the server process that is running your request. In a complex request there might be more than one agent working for you. If an agent crashes you will not get the proper report. Crashed agents should disappear from your server. The number of available agents is depending on many aspects, like memory and processors and this will influence the speed of your reporting.

Just to throw it out there, I get Reporting Server Agent Crashed messages often for a myriad of reasons. I think I got this message once when I forgot to put a semi-colon on an -IF statement, or was it I didn't have the word THEN in an IF-ELSE one. The point I'm trying to make is, this message can be a sign that there's something wrong with the fex code and not necessarily the agent.
