I am getting the error mentioned as (FOC32451) (Max of 255 across instances in online report exceeded). I am using BY and ACROSS fields to create matrix report. If the number of across columns is less, report workd fine but if it exceeeds a limit, then fails. Please proide a solution to resolve this.

TABLE FILE SQLOUT
SUM AD_R AS ''
ACROSS ABC AS 'PRODUCT'
ACROSS DEF AS 'ACCOUNT NUMBER'
ACROSS EFG AS 'CURRENCY'
ACROSS HKL AS 'SNA ORDER'
ACROSS IJK AS 'FUND'
BY ABC NOPRINT
BY LLL NOPRINT
BY *** AS 'CATEGORY'
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT EXL2K

Thanks
Sourabh

Well... it used to be 64...
And then, why would you want a report with so many columns?

break up the report into 2 or more sections

first run one ...then the other

i think excel wont let you that many columns either

Thanks Danny and Frank. I would better run the report for different conditions.

What are you opening this in ?

Prior to Excel 2007, it only supported 256 columns anyway.

Breaking it up is probably the best solution.
