How to find the format of the entered value entered in a text box? #It should display "Alphabets" if alphabets r entered,"Numbers" when numbers are entered, "Alphanumeric" when both alphabets and numbers are entered.

What tool to use?
Javascript can do things like that, although I'm not quite sure if it can make the distinction between alpha and alphanumeric.
Focus can also do this, but also only distinguishes between numeric and not-numeric.

subsitute your variable for &VAR

-SET &VARTYPE= IF &VAR.TYPE EQ 'N' THEN 'NUM' ELSE IF PATTERN (&VAR.LENGTH, &VAR, 'A&VAR.LENGTH') OMITS '9' THEN 'ALPHA' ELSE 'ALPHAMUM';

Actually just had a thought.

When you say numbers

Do you mean integers or decimals?

Because if it's decimals it's slightly more complicated
