Hi,

This is my first time upgrading the Report Server, Client Server for WebFocus and was wondering if anyone had advice in regards to upgrading. i.e Any procedures I need to backup or any other config files I need to backup to have a "smooth" upgrade?

Hi Ben,

One thing I would recommend on any Client server install is to use the "-record" option to retrieve the options file that can be used in a silent install. I needed an example file for a disaster recovery test but could not locate one. I had to set up a new machine to run an attended install to get the file before I could let the disaster recovery team loose on it!!

If I run the attended install, do I still need to use the "-record" option?

Hi Ben,

No you don't, but I wish I had for the three installations my current Client has. It would have made my life easier for when they mentioned disaster recovery!

Remember that hindsight is a wonderful thing only when viewed retrospectively.
