DATASET Attribute in the .mas file can be used to read the data from specific files mentioned in the DATASET attribute. I would like to know whether we can have multiple file names in the .mas file so that I don't need to do FILEDEF in my program to read from different files. Say I have three files 0,1,2. Can I define the DATASET to read from these files?
I don't think you can specify multiple DSNs in the DATASET attribute. There are, of course, many solutions to what you want to do depending upon the file type, the easiest beiung the USE atatement for FOCUS files.

Dataset will be from Mainframe system. So Can we say multiple files cannot be mentioned in DATASET attribute in the .mas file. But this can be controlled as part of our code logic. Say after reading from 0, 1 and 2 can be loaded sequentially, not all at time.
I'm glad you said that the DSNs are on mainframe because you can use the DYNAM CONCAT syntax to concatenate them (if they are flat files of course) and use that as your DATASET reference. I don't know if you can use the DYNAM CONCAT within the master (doubt it very much) but you should be able to set it up in your server profiles, fexes or (obviously) your JCL or PROC.
