Anyone out there been successful in using ReportCaster to distribute to a location passed to it as a parameter. Somewhat like a dynamic list, but even more dynamic than that. What I would like is for a user to be able to specify a printer IP and use the DSTRUN to kick off the job to the printer specified by the user. I know we can pass parms using the DSTRUN, but it seems to only accept those as procedure inputs, not as an RC input. I would suppose I could use the API to create a whole new job, but having zero experience with JAVA and APIs, I was looking for a baby step.
Regards,
Darin

I have come up with a solution on this one. I will post as soon as I get a minute to put it all together. I have also submitted to "Tips and Techniques" contest so you may see it at Summit! Not to get injured patting myself on the back, but I am always pleased when I come up with a way to make WebFOCUS do something that it was not intended to do. I'm sure others feel the same.

Darin

Hello Darin, I looked for your solution in a later post but did not find it. Can you post? I'm in need of sending Webfocus report output via Reportcaster API to dynamic location/persion. Thanks, Mark
