I just finished my edaserver intallation. In my ibisamp directory, none of the focus files have been generated.(The fexes are there all right. So are the corresponding master files) Dont the focus files get created as well? P.S:I just installed edaserver and nothing else. I am trying to test a sample fex from the reporting server console. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Kerry,

Yes - FEX's, MFD's and FOC files should have all been created in the ibisamp directory.
You can CREATE FILE CAR but that doesn't help you get data in the file, nor does it explain why they are missing - but at least your procedure will no get an error.

If you have ibisamp\dblcar.fex you can run it to crrate the car db.
There should also be other fexes with names starting with "dbl" (probably stands for database load).

Hi George,
There is a job, Loadsmpl.fex that should create all the sample files for you.
Cheers,

george!!
Yes the dblcar.fex was present in there and I just executed it. But the focus file is empty anyway. Is there any other way to get data into it?

Kerry, Yes there is this dblSamp.fex. It looks for this &LOCATION variable, for the directory location to create the files. Does that have to be set somewhere?

&LOCATION will be the path to your ibi/apps/ibisamp directory . Open the fex and add your path on the line that says -DEFAULT &LOCATION= and then run it.
