Guidelines doing canned reports in MRE/BID ?
We did our project as MRE/BID. Now we are trying figure out a way to host canned/precomputed reports without losing benefits of MRE (benefits such as use-auth, groups, domains). Any guidelines are appreciated.

Questions such as -

(1) How to run fex files automatically (how to kick-start them from a command line perl script) ?
(2) How to make the fex files store the results into some directory for offline browsing (may be
some kind of HOLD AS) ?
(3) Is there a way to give the links to reports in MRE to users (may be mail them) so that when they
click on them .... the MRE would launch, ask them userid/password and show the report ? I
tried to cut-paste links but they didn't work. It throws an error asking to log into MRE. It looks
like the user has to first log into the dashboard before using these links.

For my two posts on sunday, somehow my profile/signature did not show up. Now it seems to be working again.

Susannah, I picked up the "FILEDEF" from your post. I had not thought about it ... I will try working on those lines. Thx.

Just thought of updating this old issue... It was not worthwhile
to have canned reports. Decided to generate the reports on-the-fly from
database. Whereever it was slow, created summarized tables. It is much
easy that way. Because I get to control when to run offline scripts to
generate summarized tables.

You can use ReportCaster to schedule the execution of reports, and if you target the output to the Report Library, you can display the canned output from the Library in a Dashboard content block.
