Hi,

I have the following situation in my project.

I am using a textbox to allow the user to input some values. i need to validate it in webfocus. is there any way to check the value present in the variable is numeric or nonnumeric?

please help me

hi all,

The answer i have got in from the manual.

sorry to have posted this messgae earlier

i have used TYPE keyword to find the datatype

for example: &VAR.TYPE it returnd A for alphanumeric and N for numeric.

Javascript also provides the functionality you need. (I think there's and IS A NUMBER operator) If you're doing validation (check data before submitting it to WF), JS is the way to go. If you just need to know the type for further processing, your method works fine.
