Has anyone ever tried right-clicking on a file and edit with an external editor (in my case I am using editplus) from Developer Studio and get a message saying "An error has been encountered".

After I get this message. I cannot edit the file anymore. I found out the only way to edit it again is to restart the WebFocus Reporting Server.

Are there any special characters in your app path? I have seen that error message before in Dev Studio when someone had a directory with a period in it.

No special characters in the path.

It seems that within the folder there is a file locked for some reason. The file was a .js (if that matters), so what I had to do was just wait until the next day and the file will be released hence this issue goes away.

Now the other problem that happens is once the file is released, it does not contain any data in it and - of course - the file size is : 0 KB.
