For a burst report distributed to users via Library, the user get a link in the email that gets them to the library where they enter MRE login info to access the report. Is there a way that the link that is sent to the users in email would automatically open the corresponding report when they click on it, provided they are connected to the company's network. The login parameters for accessing MRE are the same as they use to access company's network. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Kerry,

Thanks. But still the user will need to look for the report and open it himself. Is there a way that he is directly taken to the Open/Save popup for the report when he clicks the link?

If you're just wanting them to automatically have the content of the report, why use the Library at all? Why don't you just burst the report and send them their sections directly? Clicking on a link in the email is just an unnecessary extra step.

Darin

Yes, thought of that but our intended users are unlikely to delete the older emails and considering we send these active report out daily, the disk usage can go up rather quickly for the mail server. So library would be a better option where we can control the number of versions to be kept. Thanks.

What about creating an additional task in your schedule to write the report to a network share, overwriting the file each time? Then give the user a link to open that file but still have the library versions as necessary. This might not be what they really want but it will allow them to see the latest report each time.
Altenatively, create a script run within their mail client to tidy up as necessary.
