How focus is different from CICS?

Curious as to why you ask.

Simple answer here:

CICS is a mainframe system that is used to handle processing of mainframe applications in what is fondly known as green-screen mode. To me FOCUS is a tool for reporting and maintaining files and can be an application which runs under CICS. WebFOCUS allows a graphical user interface for generating reports. (simplest version).

Oh you posted this as a poll.

I voted for Focus Doubt!

Leah's exactly right Sunil - CICS is kind of a transaction handler for input / update applications on the mainframe. Focus is a whole different animal. It's a reporting language and a middleware product.

You might want to spend some time reading up on focus / webfocus.

Perhaps if we knew what you were thinking about, we could help point you in the right direction?
