I have a compound report with three sections, with Page numbers being displayed in the footer of every section. I have EMPTYREPORT ANSI for each section. I am using '
Page: 1 (for section1)
Page: (for section2)
Page: 3 (for section3)

How can I display "Page: 2" though there is no data in section 2 and only column titles are displayed. This happens for every section with no data. Also i cant use PAGE-NUM as i need to show page nos in footer only.

Are all your second report section page numbers to be 2? If so just hard code the page number into your footing.

SET EMPTYREPORT = ANSI
TABLE FILE CAR
PRINT COUNTRY NOPRINT
      COMPUTE LINE1/A40 = 'This is page 1'; AS ''
IF RECORDLIMIT EQ 1
FOOTING
"Page - 1"
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT PDF OPEN NOBREAK
END
TABLE FILE CAR
SUM RCOST DCOST
BY COUNTRY
WHERE COUNTRY EQ 'INDIA'
FOOTING
"Page - 2"
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT PDF NOBREAK
END
TABLE FILE CAR
PRINT COUNTRY NOPRINT
      COMPUTE LINE1/A40 = 'Last page'; AS ''
IF RECORDLIMIT EQ 1
FOOTING
"Page - 3"
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT PDF CLOSE
END

Hi Tony, thx for the code but i cant hard code the page numbers.

For e.g. if Section 1 has 2 pages of data, and Section 2 starts from third page but has no records even then it should display Page:3 in the footer of section2. And Section 3 should start from Page:4. "Page:3" should not be hardcoded as Section 1 can span across any number of pages.

Hence The continuity in page numbers should be there with page numbers getting displayed, though we may or may not have data in a section.
