I am new to WebFOCUS. I needed to know how the reports get saved under the 'MY Reports'.

Is it like a copy of the standard report. Can we find out what standard report was used to create the copy under MY Reports.

thanks.

My Reports can be generated from Reporting Objects, with InfoAssist, Report Assistant, Graph Assistant or Power Painter depending on what Roles and Permissions you've been granted. Standard Reports can only show up in "My Reports" if you have permission to "Save Parameters.

Thank you very much, Guys. Is there a way I can find out how the report was genereated under the MY Report section. I mean can I can find if the report was built using 'Reporting Objects', 'Report Assistant' etc. Also if it was build by 'Report Assitant' then what Reporting Object was used.

For starters, you've got two threads on the forum asking the same question. Please do not "double post." Just adds to the confusion.

To answer you question, there is no way to tell how a report got into My Reports. However, the reporting object used has a name just like a fex does, and that is identified in the code of the report.

Darin

In looking for the answer to the question 'how do I identify the reporting object used to create the report' I found this post. In looking at the code it appears that the 'TABLE FILE fn' uses the parent table and that the -INCLUDE points to the reporting object. So the RO name could be different from the fn used.

TABLE FILE AS_ACADEMIC_HISTORY_SUMMARY
-* Begin MR Suffix *-
-SET &SECTION='WHERE';
-INCLUDE mrv/academic_history.fex
