When running a fex from an Launch page created by resource layout painter the first execution works the second execution produces an excel dialog box:

"A document with the name 'WFServlet' is already open. You cannot open two documents with the same name even if the documents are in different folders.
To open the second document, either close the document that's already open, or rename one of the documents."

And an OK button is displayed.

My question is:

Is there a way to suppress this and just open a window or close the previous window?

It is an excel thing. I ususally hit okay, then have both reports open. Ah computer software, isn't it wonderful.

Leah:

Thank you for responding, Thats what I do too. Unfortunately my boss feels the users will be helplessly confused by this dialog box and when the dialog box gets buried Webfocus locks up until you click OK.

I was hoping there was a way to change the name or close the already open report or overlay it.

Bob,

Not quite a WebFOCUS thing as Leah says, it's Excel that locks up waiting for a response. I agree that it is damned annoying though. It's even worse when the dialog asking for the acknowledgement is hidden behind other windows as in most of my Users situations. One came to me after about half an hour and said that her machine was locked and she couldn't do anything (accompanied by stupid computer comments etc. ! lol). The effect is now named after her!! We had to tell her about three or four times before she remembered it!
