I need to call external javascript file in my fex. I use -HTMLFORM begin and -HTMFORM end to embed the javascript code but the fex ignores the javascript file. It does recognize other html code though.

Secondly, is there a way to pass variable though a link in html page to another html page? I don't need form or IBIF_ex='fex" syntax. I don't want to run a fex to pass variable. Need more on the syntax of:
<a href="http://server/ibi_html/../html/test.htm">Test
how do I pass variable in this syntax?

Dear Notso (sorry - couldn't resist it Wink )

How have you coded your JS? Is it in a function that you are not calling? have you correctly bounded the script by the correct tags? Post the detail so we can help further.

On your second question, to what are you trying to pass the variable? ASP, WebFOCUS or other?

As has been mentioned many times, you just add your variables after your URL (that is what your href is within your anchor tag). The first is delimited by a question mark with each subsequent variable being delimited by an ampersand. To pass a variable called myvar1 with a value of 'smart' and myvar2 of 'code' just code -

<a href="http://server/ibi_html/../html/test.htm?myvar1=smart&myvar2=code">Test
