Webfocus 5.3.3 on Unix

I have a fex that generates a xls file and works fine if run manually. When reportcaster runs the job it come out with the correct file name but it has no file extension.

"ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT EXL2K"

I have it set in reportcaster to send it out the Excel2k file but the files show up on the other end as having names and no extensions.

Any idea's about possible causes or remedies?

as a side note when I tell reportcaster to burst the reports it splits the report up into many smaller ones but it keeps the extension of xls.

Perhaps the "other end" has "Hide extensions for known file types" in effect?

I fixed it. I had a bad file name which caused the problem.
