I'm recieving the following error when attempting to drill into a detailed report fex from a more summarized fex, they are built off seperate master files.

Here's my drilldown in the summary fex.
TYPE=DATA,
BACKCOLOR=( RGB(198 215 255) RGB(224 224 224) ),
TARGET='_blank',
FOCEXEC=matrixxg/app/wcqrgj18.fex(CUST_NUMBER=N5 REP_GRP_CHRONO='BYMONTH' REP_GRP_LOCALE='IGGY' REP_GRP_ATTRIB='CUSTPL'),
$

0 ERROR AT OR NEAR LINE 304 IN PROCEDURE wcqrgj18FOCEXEC *
(FOC280) COMPARISON BETWEEN COMPUTATIONAL AND ALPHA VALUES IS NOT ALLOWED

Line 304 is this...
WHERE CUSTOMER_NUMBER EQ 40050;

The calling fex is passing a field called "CUSTOMER_NUMBER" which is an A8 in the master file.
The recieving fex is showing customer number as A8.

Should it be enclosing the value in single ticks? I'm still very new to webfocus, so these problems are usually very simple fixes. Wink

Prarie,

You should be ashamed of your self.

NO it should not be enclosed in quotes because if you do that, it passes the absolute value
to the WHERE test, i.e. ‘N5’

Are you sure that N5 is the correct column designator?

Try using the actual column name instead.

FOCEXEC=matrixxg/app/wcqrgj18.fex(CUST_NUMBER=CUSTOMER_NUMBER REP_GRP_CHRONO='BYMONTH' REP_GRP_LOCALE='IGGY' REP_GRP_ATTRIB='CUSTPL'),

yields
WHERE CUSTOMER_NUMBER EQ 55000;
and, of course, the same error.

Doh!

Sending and receiving. A real pain.

Basic rule, do not quote when sending unless it’s an absolute value.
Basic rule, Always quote when Receiving if it’s an ALPHA.
