Hey folks,

As of 7.6.9 you now have the ability to hide a MRE Domain from users. I'm using this feature to create a single domain to manage my applications. I call it CommonFiles. When I build Dashboard Views for our various user groups I simply add content blocks that point to the CommonFiles domain. It's nice and neat. One domain to store and manage stuff yet many domains from which to access it.
According to the documentation, "The Saved Parameter report and the report it was created from must reside in the same Managed Reporting Domain."
This presents a challenge because when a user from their own domain uses the Save Selection button it saves the report to the Saved Parameters Reports Folderin the CommonFiles Domain which, of course, is hidden from them!
Have any of you worked this out in your own environment or have any ideas how to get the Saved Parameters Reports in the user domain rather than the CommonFiles domain?

Thank you kindly,

Dan

The following is what is sent to the server when it builds the save function. My guess is that if you change the value of IBIFC_IBIMR_domain to the actual domain that you want to save the request to, then it will write the save components into the user's html file. I manually changed the user's html file to put the saved result under another domain, and the re-run still worked as expected.

It wouldn't be easy to change it however. You would probably have to add a JAVA filter to the web app to make this happen, as the saving of parameters does not call the wf server at any point.

Hope this helps.

dhagen,

Thanks for the information. Looks like more work than I want to go through to create and maintain this functionality. Instead I submitted a new feature request. I'll let the experts handle this one.
Meanwhile, I'll think of something to get around the limitation.

Regards,

Dan
