I have a simple HTML form in MRE from which I want to run one of two reports in my Application Folder. I want to have one button that will call a report that runs in AHTML format, and a defer button that runs a different report in Excel format.

Two possible solutions, neither of which I have been able to make work:
1) In MRE, right-click on the button, and put in the Source field something that points it to the application folder fex.
2) Create the HTML page/form in the application path and add a deferred button.

I've tried creating an HTML file in the application folder, then copying it to MRE. The problem is that outside of MRE, it doesn't give you the option to add a Defer button (which would be perfect). Furthermore, when I copy to MRE, if I don't touch anything, I can at least run the HTML file from MRE, but if I go into it in the HTML Composer in MRE and try to add a Defer button, then neither the run button or Defer button work; it seems to modify the request at the bottom and I get a IBIMR_Folder missing error.

The reason I want to do one of these two options is so that I can have one HTML file per report, and be able to run in MRE. I've been trying this for about 8 hours today with no luck. The only thing that I've gotten to work is if I create the HTML form in MRE, and create two small programs that have MRNOEDIT INCLUDE that reference my application folder procedures, and hook my HTML run and defer buttons to these stub programs. But I don't like this solution because it means 3 files I have to create for each individual report (HTML plus 2 stub files) and I want to avoid creating the stub files, yet have a Defer option.

I'm about ready to throw in the towel, but I can't believe this is a unique problem that no one has yet solved. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have also just opened a case (90102547) with Tech Support on this issue of not being able to reference app path procedures from the MRE HTML Layout Tool.

Where is the report you want to run defered? MRE or App Folder?

The report I want to run is in the app folder.

Just got off the phone with Tech Support. He said that the way it's built doesn't allow you to directly reference an app-folder procedure from an MRE HTML file. You can either write a small stub program in MRE that points to the app-folder fex, or you can have your fex in the MRE domain.

So unless someone can tell me otherwise, that's the answer I'll live with. Not exactly the one I wanted to exist, but it's a reasonable answer.

Yes do with the small program that points to the app folder.
