I am looking for a function I can use in an Info Assist Define to tell me what month a specific date falls into.

Example: 10/04/2011 = October
Is there an automatic way to do this?

Right now my only solution is to write out the folloing define:
IF DATE_FIELD GE 10/01/2011 AND DATE FIELD LE 10/31/2011 THEN 'October'
ELSE IF DATE_FIELD GE 11/01/2011 AND DATE FIELD LE 11/30/2011 THEN 'November'
ect.

Can you define a month field, then check or display ?
e.g.
TABLE FILE CAR
PRINT COMPUTE DATE/YYMD = '&YYMD' ;
COMPUTE MONTH/M = DATE ;
COMPUTE MonTR/Mtr = DATE ;
BY COUNTRY
END

The field MONTH is also a number 1-12
