Why doesn't the PCT get recomputed for the totals?

DEFINE FILE CAR
SALESD/D10 = SALES;
END
TABLE FILE CAR
SUM
SALESD
PCT.SALESD/D6% WITHIN CAR
BY COUNTRY
BY CAR
ACROSS SEATS
ON TABLE RECOMPUTE
END

Francis, it may be due to the WITHIN. I'm sure you know how to do this but here's a workaround:

SET ASNAMES = ON
SET HOLDLIST = PRINTONLY
DEFINE FILE CAR
SALESD/D10 = SALES;
END
TABLE FILE CAR
SUM SALESD NOPRINT
BY COUNTRY
BY CAR
SUM
SALESD
COMPUTE SALESD_PCT/D6% = (SALESD / C1) * 100 ;
-*PCT.SALESD/D6% WITHIN CAR
BY COUNTRY
BY CAR
ACROSS SEATS
ON TABLE RECOMPUTE
END

Ken,

Thanks for the solution.

I wonder why the PCT behaves the way it does. I don't know of any report where the RECOMPUTEd total percentage would need to be over 100%.

I think it's a case of individually developed segments of software that don't interact with each other correctly. We then have to find work-around solutions.

Thanks again.
