Is there a way to default the "Show on user's list" to off when a fex is created?

The majority of the fexes we create don't need to show up on the tree for our users, and I usually forget to go back and uncheck this box.

Thanks!

Jason,

To my knowledge, no there isn't, and the only way you'll get that changed is to raise an NFR with IB.

The content of the lists of Domains, Masters, fields, and *.fex presented to MRE users can be controlled with a set of control files containing WHERE/IF statements.

Read: "WebFOCUS Managed Reporting Administrator's Manual; v7.1.3 > Customizing the Display of Applications, Master Files, Fields and Field Descriptions > Customization Overview" an the pages which follow.

What he's looking for is not to modify the contents of the list, but to modify the default value of a property of each fex displayed in the list. As Tony says, there is not a way to automatically manage this. If you copy a fex that has it off, then the new fex has it off. My SOP is to ALWAYS turn that property off when I first create a new fex. It never gets turned on until it moves to test or prod.

Darin
