I create a DB2 file with Focus 7.2 mainframe. Usually it works fine; however, I have received a FOC419 error occasionally. It says:

.(FOC419) FIXFORM SUBCOMMAND ELEMENT OR FIELDNAME NOT RECOGNIZED:
.TERM_IDENT_TRAN /CA04
.
. BYPASSING TO END OF COMMAND
. PROCEDURE INCOMPLETE

I'm not using the field TERM_IDENT_TRAN. What is going on?

Probable cause: "FIXFORM FROM ddname" is reading the wrong copy of the MFD.

Check how MASTER and HOLDMAST are allocated, and see if there are multiple copies. Or add "WHENCE myddname MASTER" before the MODIFY.

An extension to the last reply is that if you are
creating the hold file and have any NOPRINT commands then you must add
SET HOLDLIST=PRINTONLY or ON TABLE SET HOLDLIST PRINTONLY
to your report otherwise the MFD will contain extra fields that may not be in your database.
