Ok, so I installed 7.6.9 because I was told I had to for a particular project. But! another project that I'm working on is still on 7.1.1 servers and when I replaced 7.6.5 with 7.6.9 the Maintain code would no longer run. And I've found the screen layout painter in 7.6.9 produces something that even a 7.6.5 reporting server cannot digest.

So, it's time to double-install. I'll get 7.6.5 back on my machine and run either one depending on my needs. That's when the crime became apparent.

I go to my support page, and every version of Dev Studio from 7.6.4 onward is available, except for 7.6.5. Am I imagining 7.6.5 for Dev Studio? Was it released, or was a previous version included with the other 7.6.5 components because there was no change to Dev Studio? Can someone tell me which version I should use if I want to reach down to 7.1.1? I won't be installing a 7.1 version so let's not broach that "identical-versions" subject. I'd need about a dozen of them.

Maybe I'll just go with 7.6.2 to be safe.

J.

I would suggest you talk to IBI and see if they can get you one.

FYI

I just had a look at my downloads, and I can see versions back to 5.2.9

Yes, well, I just got a copy of 765 and installed it and it doesn't run on the 711 server. I'm getting

ZINDEX IS NOT A FIELD IN (OR MEMBER OF) TYPE IWCCONTROLBUTTON.

. . . which makes me think I need to back up further. I may have had 761 on this machine.

This is a bit tedious.

I would strongly suggest talking to IBI to get a copy of version 7.1.1

The ZINDEX thing was introduced to maintain in release 765. That's the first release that has it.
If you run maintains created or maintained with a 765 or higher release on a server of a lower release level, you'll receive the ZINDEX message. So, you'll have to go back to 764 - which does not have the ZINDEX thing yet, manually edit all your maintains that have been created or modified with 765 or higher (because the MDE of 764 or less will also not recognize the ZINDEX thing yet) to remove the ZINDEX things from your forms, and then run them against the 764 or lower server.
