Hi,

I'm trying to figure out what event occurs to trigger the 'Done Populating' browser status bar message when an HTML launch page's parameters are populated.

When the launch page in question loads I display a DIV tag message that says, "Please wait while your options are loaded". I have this set to disappear after 5 seconds but depending on who you are when you log in it may take only 1 second for the parameters to populate and the 'please wait message hangs around needlessly.

Obviously there is some trigger that causes the 'Done Populating' message to appear but I can't figure out what that is. Anybody know how this can be done?

Thanks,

Dan

Dan,

There isn't any type of event that gets activated when a control is populated. It is just a piece of javascript that detects these controls to be populated and fires them off in sequence that is defined in the html-painter. The javascript is in ibirls2.js (in /ibi/webfocus76/ibi_html/javaassist/ibi/html/js). The function that issues the 'Done populating' status message is called 'objectPopulated'.
Perhaps you could make a copy of this file and put in your own code to cancel your own message?
If you do so, be aware that the behaviour may change with every new release of webfocus, so with every upgrade you will have to reconsider your changes to any standard ibi provided script.

Hope this helps ...
